Upward Challenge: Global Edition

Upward Challenge is "Dunamis for Young People."  It is open to all of those who will be starting grades 8-12 in September. It is recommended that the youth who attend have a basic knowledge of Scripture and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

It's free to register.

Summer camp...online? Really? Yep!

We normally offer Upward Challenge every year as an in-person summer camp, usually in July. It has been held online for the last two summers. One benefit of doing UC online is that it can be a global event, not limited by factors like geography or travel.

What do they do?

During the week, youth participate in interactive teaching sessions, small group discussions, personal solo times, one-on-one prayer ministry, powerful times of worship, group games, and times of wonderful fellowship.

UC Global 2020

In 2020 when everything else shut down, we ramped up and really had to follow the leading of the Lord as no one really knew how to put this new thing into action. We collaborated with our communities in Canada, USA and the UK and had  55 students and 18 volunteers registered. To our amazement, we saw God working through the internet in meaningful ways plus we learned a ton. Since our theme was on the Power of Prayer - we were able to practically work out our situation through the power of prayer - we had no choice!

UC Global 2021

The focus of 2021 was to train and equip young people to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in the ongoing healing ministry of Jesus Christ. We had 100 students from 10 countries participating in this event! We had to rewrite material to make it work in an online setting and to be applicable to youth.  This topic was especially relevant for our young people this summer, after a year of strain and lockdowns resulting from the pandemic.

UC Global 2022

UC Global 2022 was a much smaller event from last year.  The planning team had many setbacks that almost prevented camp from taking place. They managed to pull together a weekend event July 8-10, despite the setbacks and loss of key team members. Please pray for our Youth and Young Adult Coordinator, Ashley Patton as we continue to work out how to equip and support our youth workers and youth.
