Spiritual gifts are like power tools. They need to be connected to a source to function. This course looks at the nature and use of individual gifts and how one cooperates with the Holy Spirit.

About the event
In the Spirit's Power looks at the nature and use of individual gifts, and gets at the essence of how one cooperates with the Holy Spirit. The leadership team and participants will model practicing discernment in a safe environment.
Part One – The Functional GiftsÂ
Introduces the different types or genres of spiritual gifts, elaborating on the functional gifts described in Romans 12:6-8, and helps people begin to discern which gifts they may have.

Part Two- The Manifestational GiftsÂ
Examines the nature and use of the manifestational gifts as listed in 1 Corinthians 12 & 14.

Part Three – Principles of Power MinistryÂ
Looks at the dynamic of cooperating with the Holy Spirit in signs and wonders for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
Main teaching topics include:
- Jesus and the Kingdom of God
- The Gifts of the Holy Spirit for Life in the ‘Between the Times’
- The Dynamic of Cooperating with the Holy Spirit
- Receiving Guidance and Cooperating with the Holy Spirit
- Discernment: Is This Really from God?
- The Functional Gifts for Building the Church
- The Manifestational Gifts for Showing Forth Jesus’ Power
- The Speaking Gifts: Word of Knowledge and Word of Wisdom
- The Speaking Gifts: Tongues and Interpretation
- The Speaking Gifts: Prophecy and Discernment
- The Power Gifts: Faith, Healing and Miracles
- The Church Doing Jesus’ Ministry in the Power of the Holy Spirit

Cost: $118 for meals and snacks
Lunches: Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Suppers: Thursday, Friday.
Morning snacks and afternoon snacks each day.
You are responsible for your own breakfast.
Accommodations:Â
We are not offering accommodations for this event, however, there are a few options in the area - Travelodge (further away), Best Western (closer), Comfort Inn (closest). Some members of the Maranatha Christian Reformed Church have graciously offered to billet some Dunamis participants.  The number of rooms and beds available for billeting is limited; first come, first served.  Please contact Freda Kennedy (information below) to make arrangements.

Teachers:Â
Barb Ferrier was introduced to PRMI at Kortright Presbyterian Church, Guelph in 1995 and then attended PRMI events in St. Thomas and in Burlington. Barb and her husband Les led a Dunamis video course at Kortright for many years where they still attend. Barb served on the PRMI board from 2008-2013. She became the third DFC board chair and then the first Executive Director serving DFC from 2012-2018. Barb delights to see people growing in their faith, grounded in scripture, and equipped to use their natural and spiritual gifts to advance Jesus’ Kingdom.
Rev. Bob Sim is a retired pastor of a reformed church. He and his wife Emily live in Hamilton and attend the Family Church of Heritage Green. Bob has done the 6 units in the Dunamis Project, did a video course in his previous church and is an adjunct teacher of the Dunamis Project. Bob loves our Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. He is looking forward to sharing in that love with you in this project.
Gateways Makeup
Gateways is Dunamis 101. Â If you have not attended Dunamis Project 1: Gateways to Empowered Ministry, you are invited to take this additional shortened version of the course on Zoom on Saturday October 28 from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm ET. (Adjust for your time zone). It will introduce you to our basic concepts on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, who is the Holy Spirit, what does the Holy Spirit do, and how you can be filled with the Holy Spirit. Register here.

All events organized by Dunamis Fellowship Canada are offering based. Registration fees cover venue costs and meals. During your event, you'll be invited to share in the vision of Dunamis Fellowship Canada and give an offering towards the ministry to advance our mission of equipping people to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.
