Prayer is our way of communicating with God and it's a two-way conversation.

In “Dunamis Essentials: The Power of Prayer” we look at how any Christian can pray with vision and power. Sessions move between focusing on growing in intimacy with Jesus Christ through prayer and participating with God in shaping the future through intercessory prayer.

Sessions move between focusing on growing in intimacy with Jesus Christ through prayer and participating with God in shaping the future through intercessory prayer. The teaching content is important, but your growing in prayer comes as the Holy Spirit leads the group into prayer. Much time is spent in prayer and then reflection on what has happened during the prayer.

• The Role of the Holy Spirit in Prayer

• The Power of Asking in Jesus’ Name

• How God Answers Prayer

• Intercessory Prayer

Gateways Catch up - before attending this event:

Is this your first Dunamis event or could you use a refresher? We offer a series of 10 short videos of the 1st project - Gateways. The Gateways teaching contains the core, foundational information that underlies the entire Dunamis curriculum; it covers matters like worldview and who the Holy Spirit is; what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit and what is the baptism of the Spirit, and much more.  The teachers at our "Edmonton Dunamis Essentials 3: The Power of Prayer " event will assume you already understand this core Gateways content, so it is very important that you learn it beforehand.

The Dunamis Project vs Dunamis Essentials  

The Dunamis Project is the central training of DFC to help you cooperate with the Holy Spirit in whatever ministry you may have, in whatever part of the world you may live. It is a series of 6 conferences, 4 or 5 full days each, over a 3-year period with solid biblical teaching about the person and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

​​Dunamis Essentials is an abridged version of each of the 6 Dunamis Projects, still over 3 years, where we teach the content in a condensed time frame, either on-line or in-person. You will get to experience live teaching, small groups and worship together. Our goal is to make the Dunamis teachings more accessible to more people. 

This event is fully in-person in Edmonton, AB offered Thursday evening, all day Friday and all-day Saturday.

Teachers

Rev. Dr. Phil Noordmans serves Jesus as a pastor, teacher, author, family man, and unexpectedly successful organic gardener. His spiritual journey led him from dispensational cessationism to a balanced charismatic faith, profoundly shaped by his experiences with PRMI and Dunamis. Through these ministries, God opened his eyes to the empowering work of the Holy Spirit—an enriching and life-transforming revelation that had been absent from his Christian upbringing and seminary education. Phil deeply appreciates the mentorship and friendship he has found at PRMI. He and his wife, Teri, reside in central California, enjoying life near six of their ten grandchildren.

Arlene VanderMeer After 30+ years of professional IT experience at the University of Washington, Arlene retired from that position only to almost immediately walk through an open door of teaching and prayer ministry with the Dunamis Project. She also serves on the leadership team for DFUSW (Dunamis Fellowship US West). Arlene and her husband William live in Gig Harbor, WA and are teachers, leaders and very active with Freedom Ministry at their local church. In their combined family, they have 4 children, 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Jeannie Visser lives in Edmonton Alberta and has been involved in Dunamis since 2006. She is married with four children and 1 grandson. She has recently stepped into teaching as an apprentice. Dunamis has changed her life. See Jeannie's testimony:

Since our events focus on spiritual formation and discipleship, one segment of our events leads into the next. Thus we encourage you to be fully present for the entire event, as much as you are able.

Offering

All events organized by DFC are offering based. During your event, you’ll be invited to share in the vision of DFC and give an offering towards the ministry to advance our mission of equipping people to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.
